I worked on a logo for my friend's podcast. Come check out his podcast, Movie Schlubs if you enjoy movies.
You can listen to them on their site, Stitcher, PodOmatic, and defiantly iTunes You can also follow them on Twitter and Facebook!
Check out my process of developing it!
SO I started out trying to figure out some pencil sketches for such a logo. I think as I was figuring it out at the time, I've listened to I think four episodes so far.
I thought to knock out some sort of elegant serif type of thing. It clearly didn't work of course. So after that I was thinking of going for a rock textured, Flintstones-inspired design.
So the next two sketches show that I was going in a good direction, with the last sketch with what I think is good. I showed these sketches of to my client and his friends and they where definitely skewing toward this.
So I began by coloring with Adobe Flash. The hardest thing making it was figuring out the reel and film stuff. I decided to I chose the color yellow mostly because their
old logos where yellow as well, luckily, I developed a gray scale variation of this in case they wanted some changes.
I passed the colored and gray to may friends and he loved them!
This isn't bad for a logo to be honest. I don't do logos or lettering that often, so things like this are a rarity for me.
